New leadership team at WeissBioTech
WeissBioTech GmbH has announced that the company will be managed by a new leadership team, contributing expertise from biotech, finance and sales.
Following significant operational upgrades including a new manufacturing site in Germany and FSSC22000 certification, and reassessment of the company strategy, WeissBioTech GmbH will focus on serving the Food- and Beverages markets and will be managed by a new leadership team:
Mr. Pieter-Jan ‘’PJ’’ Heijkoop, MBA has been appointed as Director looking after the Commercial and Business Development. PJ possesses over 15 years’ experience in the Industrial Biotech industry in commercial leadership roles, leading global business teams at several large enzyme producers in Europe. Further, PJ has a large and relevant network of B2B experts in the Food and Beverage ingredients market segments: ‘’This is an exciting industry where new products are developed, and new applications are found, every day!’’
Dr Ludwig Klermund has been appointed as Managing Director and head of Operations, Quality & Compliance and Product Development. Ludwig owns a PhD in Biotechnology and possesses a strong background in enzymes and biochemical engineering with over nine years of experience in enzyme technology. Ludwig previously worked with BRAIN Biotech AG in enzyme development for Food and Pharma: ‘’Agility, responsiveness and flexibility are our core strengths that deliver tailored enzyme products to accelerate the biobased success of our customers. It’s an honour to serve their needs and aim for top-quality, every day!’’
Mr. Robbert Hoekstra has been appointed Managing Director and head of Finance & Administration. Robbert is a Dutch Chartered Accountant who lives in Oberursel (near Frankfurt). He is a Finance professional with over twenty years’ experience in leading global Finance teams at several firms, also active in Industrial Biotech. Robbert is also Head of Accounting at BRAIN Biotech AG which allows for a secure connection between WeissBioTech GmbH and parent company BRAIN Biotech AG: ‘’Enzymes never stop surprising me in their possibilities.
