BRAIN to collaborate with DSM on enzyme research

Mutual Benefits

Thanks to DSM’s extensive experience in producing and marketing innovative specialty chemicals and BRAIN AG’s profound expertise in the fields of technology and microbial resources, this collaboration is built on very firm foundations and looks set to be a success. For BRAIN, the collaboration is an important milestone in the company’s strategy of further expanding its collaborations with globally successful partners from the chemical industry, thereby strengthening the industrial network at its disposal and ensuring increased support for future projects.

Meeting the needs of a competitive market

“The collaboration with BRAIN will further broaden DSM’s strong technology platforms. This will help us to generate new metabolic production pathways”, explains Dr. Henk J. Noorman, Corporate Scientist Bioprocess Technology at DSM. “In today‘s industrial ‘white’ biotechnology sector, it is crucial for our company to position itself as an integrated solution provider for the development of marketable products”, states Dr. Jürgen Eck, CTO of BRAIN AG. “We are proud that DSM, one of the leading European chemical companies, has decided to collaborate with us and calls upon our substantial experience in process development, and also to use our validated Metagenome® technology platform for microbial strain development for the fermentative production of chemicals.”
